Milos and The Corrado

I had the pleasure of meeting Milos for my first time at a VW Show. No
surprise there, eh? Actually it was Waterfest of '98, I recall sweating
beside my car trying the change over to my race tires for the auto-x in
time. Milos (dressed in black on this hot day) and Anne were strolling
by with great smiles on their faces.
From what I understand, the Corrado was introduced to Milos by Anne, who
at the time had a 1990 pearl green G60. Like the rest of us Corrado groupies, Milos
quickly fell for the shape, agility, looks and personality of the
Corrado. We'll have to credit Anne for converting Milos to the "C-side." Around 1997, Milos bought Anne's 1990 pearl green G60 so that she could buy a 1991 dark burgundy G60, which she still owns.
Like any dedicated Corrado owner, Milos only let professionals touch the
car. This basically translates that all upgrades and work was performed
by AWE Tuning when he was in Philadelphia. Additionally, Milos' passion for the Corrado made him a very
active member of the Corrado Club of America.
| In 2000, after Milos and the Corrado have lived in Florida for a while,
the inevitable happened. After 150,000+ miles, the supercharger destroyed itself. Like any true Corrado owner, a desperate attempt was
made to replace the charger but with the high prices of new ones and
questionable and inconsistent quality of the rebuilds, it simply was not
worth it anymore. Milos' Corrado did not end up in the junk yard however. I
recall that the rest of the car was sold to a friend who is planning to strip the paint off and use it to form some fiberglass panels for his new racecar. When this is complete, the car will be repainted and run on the road once again in a second life on the road.

| Although Milos and Anne were down one Corrado, they were still very
happy in sharing the dark burgundy G60. Milos took this opportunity to
concentrate and participate in some of his other hobbies. And he also used the opportunity to pickup a nice Mercedes station wagon to haul the dogs around in. Of course, he also still had Anne's Alfa Romeo GTV6 to have fun with as well as his motorcycle.

As you can see, Milos loved cars and had a soft spot for the Corrado which we can all relate to. He will be missed.
