Thoughts From a Friend:
Anyone who is familiar with Milos knows he totally digs the color black. As a designer and artist he certainly made wide use color but he always liked black. At his memorial service, Yosh mentioned that Milos would often talk of riding his bicycle around the Palm Beach area. Yosh always pictured Milos happily pedaling around in a black shirt, black shorts and black shoes, with his long black hair flowing behind him. It gave us all a good laugh.

But Milos did really love the color black. Whether it was in cars, clothes, art or anything else, he liked it. This was never a reflection on his outlook in life however. That was always bright and sunny and filled with color. All this in the hot Florida summer sunshine! Yet, black was still his thing.

I remember onetime, he came into my office with Bob Kenney to present some ideas for some marketing/advertising work. Milos had his long black hair pulled back and his moustache was perfectly twirled. He was wearing black trousers with black shoes, black sport coat, black shirt and a black tie. He looked like a character straight out of The Matrix, which I am sure he would have taken as a compliment. I'm not afraid to say it - he looked damn good. That image sums up his love for black in my mind. The Matrix

Thoughts From a Fellow Artist:
I asked a close friend who is an artist to ponder the power of the color black and his thoughts are included here. If you have any thoughts you wish to share, please submit them. -- Jason Livingood, 17 January 2001

Black tears the light out of the air.

Gray skies, pregnant with rain, ready to scar the ground with lightning strikes, look to you as their mentor.

Black is not a color. Its opposite, white, secretly wants to be black, but doesn't have the balls to go there.

Black is everything white is not. Black says one thing but means another. Stay away (be my friend).

Countless hues hold court in black. It betrays its loyal subjects as it fades.

Black is your dark little friend. Always there when you need it, provided its agenda is yours. Reliable in contrast to white who cringes at the slightest touch.

Black tells you that it is wrong and makes you want it anyway.

Black says "no" and beckons you ever closer.

At the center of black is a hot ember that begs to be flame again.

Black makes a statement but leaves out half of the words.

Black sticks a mystery in your face and taunts you to figure out why it's there.

Black reminds you that maybe not all is well.

Black is distinguished.

It is a weapon that can be used for good or ill.

It is its own best friend, but sees the power in alliances.

Black is eternal.

Black knows that it has your attention.

Black is the foundation, everything you don't see, and the spaces in between.

Black gestures with a straight razor towards something you want.

Black means business.

Black is an impossible absolute. And pities you for trying.

Black has affairs with white.

Black is invited to the wedding.

Black makes no apologies.

Black watches you...

undetected.

Black is there.

And then it's gone.

Black leaves the questions unanswered.
