Answer:

I would suggest using Redline Mt-90 for a manual tranny.

This was done on a '90 G60

  • Go to sears and buy a 17mm allen wrench

  • Jack up the drivers side

  • Towards the back of the tranny you'll see a drain plug, get that sucker out of there, and then let down the car a little bit to get all the old fluid out. Plug your nose, this stuff stinks.

  • Replace the plug, make sure it's on there tight, and then look for a fill plug towards the front of the car, at least that's where mine was, on the side of the tranny

  • Here you'll need about 3-4 feet of clear (aquamarine) tubing, about 17mm thick, and a funnel.

  • Feed the tubing down through the engine bay and into the hole

  • Set the car on the ground and fill up the tranny,I used two bottles of the redline tranny fluid and then any leftover drains right out. The fluid should fill all the way up to the bottom of the plug.

  • I found this method to be easier than going through the speedo cable hole.

  • Tighten the drain plug, and go easy on the first few shifts.
