Answer:

In the corrados, the rear fog lights are not activated for the North

American markets. You can do several conversions with them. One is to

just piggy back to the 3rd center brake light and add another set of

brake lights to your car (described here). Another option is to actually

make the rear fog lights work (easy in the US versions) or do both the

brakes and fog lights (these procedures are described in a different

documnets).

You will need about 2-3 meters of wire, 2 female connectors (the type

that is flat) and one of those splicer connectors (joins a new wire to an

existing one). And of course, you will need 2 light bulbs (same as for

the back-up light).

  1. Open the hatch

  2. undo the panel on the rear hatch by turning the tabs 1/4 turn with

    the screwdriver.

  3. remove the rear of the light by pressing the two tabs on the side.

  4. punch out the starred covers to the fog lights.

  5. put in the new bulbs in the bulb holder.

  6. re-attach the bulb holder to the light (snaps back to place).

  7. at one end of the wire, connect the female connector (this will be

    the left light).

  8. now, place it near the light and measure out the distance from one

light to the next (keep in mind that you will feed it through the wire

    holders in the hatch).

  9. bend the wire 180deg, and splice off the insulation (don't cut the wire)

  10. attach the second female connector.

  11. measure the distance to the center brake light.

  12. unattach the connector to the center brake light

  13. cut your wire to length and attach to the red and black wire using the splicer,

then wrap some electrical tape around it.

  14. re-attach the connector to the center brake light.

  15. Connect the rest of the wires to the lights according to the diagram

    below.

  16. re-install the hatch cover.

  17. test the lights.
