When doing this change make sure you get all of the green/blue g11 out of the system. For all steps you should leave the tank cap off. This helps remove air in system. If you don't the coolants will react and cause a jelly in our system. Not Good. 1. Pull the lower rad hose and drain the coolant. 2. Open the expansion tank and run water in to it with a hose. 3. Start the car up and let the car idle. 4. Check the coolant/water coming out, if it is dirty continue with flushing. Stop the car when crystal clear. 5. That gets all of the coolant out of the block. Now connect the hose back and fill the tank but leave the cap off to max with just water. Run the car until the thermostat opens up. You can tell it opens up when the lower hose becomes hot. Usually opens around 90 C. After it opens check the coolant and see if it is blue. If it is repeat both flushing steps stated above again. 6. When it is crystal clear, drain the system and fill with your mixture of G12. Make sure to let it idle after with the the cap off and wait until the themo opens, this removes the air from the system. If you get air, the thermo might not open and will cause your engine to overheat. Plus the coolant drops a bit after it opens. Replace cap and test drive it. Now enjoy your cool running Corrado. |
