This also happened to another Corrado owner I run around with. Periodically check to make sure that both of your cooling fans are spinning. The Problem.... That $14 belt that drives the fan directly in front of the engine jumps the pulley for it and the fan stops. Another interesting symptom was that the recently replaced cooling relay (from the UE recall---the relay with fuses under the hood drivers side) kept blowing the fuses. Seems the belt was causing the friction and forcing to the fan motor to pop the fuse. That also prevented the electric cooling pump and fan from running whether the car was on or in after-run mode. Solution... You need about six hands to do this job and a new hard to find belt because the old one probably got chewed... Use your six hands to fish the belt in and hold it on one of the pulley wheels and told spin it onto the other one. |
