On Saturday, October 11th the Ohio Corrado gathering took place. It was warm, sunny, and the scenery was great! We meet at 1:30 at the Cracker Barrel off of 71, south of Columbus. The curious managers came out to look at the Corrados lined up in their lot.

The participants include:
Greg Sauer '90 Dark Teal G60
Rich Eisen '92 Silver SLC (for sale)
Scott Mason '93 Flash Red SLC
Rob Brown '92 Blue SLC
James Simbro '93 Green SLC
Renee Needham '93 Silver SLC
Unfortunatley, Rich Eisen could not make the drive. At 2:20 I led our convoy to Hocking Hills (about an hour drive south east of Columbus). We drove north on 71 to 270 east and east on Rt. 33 through Lancaster. We managed to stay together even though we encountered traffic and a number of stop lights along the way. Our convoy definitely turned heads of the local "folk" heading to the Fairfield county fair. We drove to Lake Logan and took pictures of the cars.
While at Lake Logan, we encountered some of the "natives" fishing at the lake. Their beat up old vans did not add to our scenic background, to say the least. Most of them just stood there looking at us while we arranged the cars and took pictures, but one woman asked me "are you guys doin' some kinda advertising thing?" Obviously not familiar with our rare vehicles.
Once we took the pictures of the cars with the lake as a back drop, we went to Bob Evans for a late lunch. Of course, the cars all lined up in the parking lot attracted more attention. One waitress asked "why do you all drive the same car?" I explained that we are part of the Corrado Club of America and we were having a Corrado gathering.
We started our drive back around 5:30. We took back roads with many twists and steep hills. We averaged about 70 mph over the hills. A few collisions were fortunatley avoided. Going up one hill, everyone started to pick up speed, but Gregg and Scott, behind the rest of us, were not aware that just over the hill, we were slowing down to make a left turn.
I am glad to see that we had a G60 show up this time, we only had VR6 models at our May gathering. Our next event will be Spring '98. If you would like a JPEG or more details from the event, let me know.
