The New Corrado

There is talk that a new version of the Corrado is being designed somewhere in Germany. I don't know the details, but I saw some pictures and info floating around. If you see something in this subject, drop me a line so I can include it here (including prototype pictures).

This picture is a modified CJ Coupe that a Corrado enthusiaist created in hopes that a new Corrado will be built. Submitted by Allyson the Great.

Golf Coupe Is this the New Corrado?

This information has been provided by Kronig from Russia. The Golf Mk4 Coupe may replace the Corrado in 1999. In Germany is is predicted to be 10% less expensive than the Mk3 model because of the clever modular assembly that makes is easier to assemble. The rear suspension has been completely re-designed. Also, Thomas Bodlien reports that the latest rumors about new Volkswagen developments from germany include a VR8 for the Passat, a VR10 Diesel, the VR6 with aluminium cylinder block and 24 Valves, and a VVR12 sportscar.

Some selected photos from the Detriot Auto Show. The car is a design study called the Coupe CJ.

Currently, it isn't a real car or prototype. It's actually made out of plasticine, which is a type of clay. That "car" was boxed and transported to Detriot. On hand to look after the car was the designer and two technicians that moulded the concept. If you see some clear pictures of the car, look in the interior. It's flat. It has half a steering wheel, dash and only the tops of the seats.

What you do see, is the possible front end of the new Jetta. The painted brake calipers will be avalible on a "Drivers Version" of a GTI VR6. That should be avalible some time this year.
