
1. Disconnect OXS sensor connector (located at passenger rear engine
mount).
2. Remove OXS connector bracket from passenger rear engine mount
(10mm).
3. Raise the car and support it securely on jackstands.
4. Unscrew OXS sensor from the top front of catalytic converter. The
special OXS sensor wrench is a good investment. A 22mm crowsfoot
extension would probably work too. Otherwise the three bolts
which hold the cat to the downpipe will have to be removed so the
cat can be lowered enough to get a wrench on the sensor.
5. Remove sensor and harness from car.
6. Cut the sensor off of the wiring harness approx. 3" back from the
sensor.
7. Splice in the universal 3-wire sensor using the crimp connectors
and the heatshrink tubing supplied, or solder and heat shrink
the sensor into the harness. (Refer to diagram for connections).
8. Remove the plastic cap from the sensor. Be careful you don't get
any anti-seize on the sensor probe (if you do, wipe it off very
carefully so none gets in the probe slots).
9. Screw the sensor back into the cat. Torque to 37 ft lbs.
10. Fish the connector bracket from the cat to the engine mount and
reattach the bracket to the mount.
11. Secure the OXS harness wire with the clip on the subframe, so it
doesn't lay on the hot exhaust. I also wrapped this clip with
some electrical tape since my original harness was about to be
eaten by the sharp edges on this clip.
12. Reconnect OXS harness connector.
13. Smile, you just saved yourself ~$70 on parts alone.
