The cupholder is a flat box about 3" * 3" that folds out and has adjustable pinchers to hold the cup. When not in use it folds flat to around 1/2". I mounted it on the passenger side of the center console to the right of the shifter. Five screws hold it securely to the plastic trim. Just line up where you want the holder, and drive the screws into the trim with a screwdriver.
I've had the holder now for a couple of months and have been really happy with it. It works well, was cheap, and doesn't look cheesy. It will hold anything from a can of soda to a large McDonalds cup - it won't hold a big gulp though. Just be careful that a passenger doesn't get in with the holder open - it would probably break.
Like I said I found it at K-mart in the auto accessories section. It was in a red package labeled "On the road adjustable drink holder."
