March Corrado

The car you see on your CCA calendars in March is a 1992 Corrado SLC owned by Jason Livingood of Valley Forge, PA. Jason has owned his silver beauty for about 5 years and 95,000 miles. He now owns a silver new-beetle so he won't be adding to the 129,000 miles as fast as he used to. After graduating from Drexel University in 1994 with a BS in Business and Administration, he found his Corrado at a VW dealer when he went to look at GTI's (he used to own a 1985 8V). At the time, he knew he wanted a stylish sports car that was a bit out of the ordinary but he also recognized his practical needs such as driving comfort, trunk/interior space, ABS, etc. He was looking at Porsche 944's and Japanese sports cars, but when he came across the Corrado, it was love at first drive.

In his own words: "When I got there I saw the Corrado in the flesh for the first time. I took it for a test drive and immediately fell in love with the car and knew I had to own it. The dealer let me have it for the day and after driving it a bit more, I parked it in front of my parents' house and stared at it for a couple of hours, admiring the styling. I looked around at several other VW dealers to try to find a used Corrado VR6 but found no others. Interestingly, several of the dual VW/Porsche dealerships I went to told me that many of the people coming in to look at new 968s drove out in Corrados - which piqued my interest in the car even further. I went back and purchased the first Corrado I had driven on the day after my 22nd birthday. I didn't even have a job yet but somehow they gave me a loan and I drove home with the car! It's been a love story ever since!"

Jason lives close to Air & Water Enterprises, his favorite tuner, and has used their services to prepare his car for a number of track events he's attended. Jason can also be found at almost every CCA event within a day's drive of PA. He's currently running Dunlop SP8000's on 1993 Speedline rims. He also has a Momo steering wheel and an AWE custom oil cooler to keep things at the track. The picture was taken in an area of his back yard where horses used to be taken to graze. After a thorough cleaning and polishing the sun through the trees provided a stunning showcase for his favorite car.
